I think we have to acknowledge the presence of “ugly” in life.  It takes different forms but we can see it in relationships, in the world around us, in our own hearts – everywhere.  There’s the sad type and the selfish type and the plain old ‘that sucks’ type, and I suppose it’s part of the reality of living in a fallen world.

THANK HEAVEN that is not the end of the story.  Ugly is present, but it’s not the theme or the main character or even the best supporting actor, because it’s being redeemed even now.

good news for you and me

Our God buys ugly houses.  And ugly people, and pretty people with ugly hearts and ugly stories and ugly lives and ugly relationships.  Reason #1 to rejoice today and every day.

“For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.”

1 Peter 1:18-20
